Tom Ward

Senior Ecologist
Development

I am a dedicated botanist with several years of experience in conducting habitat and botanical surveys using the National Vegetation Classification (NVC), Phase 1, and the UK Habitat Classification. I have a MSc in Biological Recording and Ecological Monitoring and last year was appointed as joint BSBI County Recorder for Worcestershire.

My role involves supporting the team with ecological advice, organising, and conducting surveys, supporting with the delivery of biodiversity net gain services and preparing habitat management and monitoring plans.

My fascination with the natural world comes from a desire to understand how environmental factors shape the ecological communities all around us. I am also passionate about helping others develop their botanical identification skills, believing that the more biodiversity we can recognise, the better equipped we are to protect and nurture our environment.
