I trained and worked as an Ecologist for a few years before training as a secondary science teacher. I then went into teaching at a charity within Birmingham. This job perfectly combines my love for the outdoors with an interest in education and engagement. I’m currently working on a partnership bathing waters project within the Leam and Upper Avon catchment. My role involves working with volunteers, education within schools and engaging with community groups to allow people to connect with, protect and benefit from their local river. I am motivated by my desire to connect with people from wide ranging areas of life. As a wild and open water swimmer I am extremely passionate about access to clean, accessible water without barriers. I believe in our right to access open spaces and I’m loving the opportunity to work on such an amazing river as the Severn.
