Dr David Bradley is Technical Director of APEM Group’s Water Environment consultancy services. He combines his technical specialisms in freshwater ecology with strategic-level direction of a growing business. He directs a team of consultants with cross-cutting expertise in freshwater ecology, fisheries, hydrology, water quality, pollution & storm overflows, Invasive Non-Native Species, and data science. This team delivers a range of projects for the UK water, energy and development industries, and their environmental regulators. The work they do is unified by the theme of ensuring protection of the aquatic environment, whilst enabling the economic provision of water utilities, energy supply and infrastructure development. David’s passion for rivers comes from fly-fishing and fly-tying. He was a regular features contributor to the Flyfishing Journal magazine, competes in national competitions on rivers, gives regular talks and fly-tying demonstrations in the Midlands, Shropshire, Worcestershire, and Herefordshire, and spends as much time as he can immersed in the aquatic environment of the Severn catchment. David is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, Wild Trout Trust, The Grayling Society, Wild Fish and Angling Trust. David lives with his family in the heart of the Severn Valley in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. He is an active member of many local angling organisations, with a deep knowledge and love of the rivers and streams in the Severn and Teme catchments.
