Becky Neal

River Engagement Assistant
Community Engagement

I have had a lifelong passion for nature and the outdoors, so now my sons are grown I am pursuing that passion and Severn Rivers Trust have helped me facilitate this. My role has enabled me to make a career change into the world of conservation. I really want to help with the UK’s nature and biodiversity recovery. Protecting and restoring our rivers is a big part of this.

My role is to assist the community engagement team to inspire local communities to protect and love their rivers. This includes things like family workshops, school assemblies, river cleans, tree planting and water quality testing.

I really believe that teaching the younger generation to protect and care for our rivers, along with raising awareness in local communities, will have a very positive impact on wildlife, biodiversity and mental wellbeing.
