River Severn Catchment Officer

Salary Up to £27,058 depending upon experience plus pension and life insurance

Permanent full-time contract

This post is jointly employed by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and Severn Rivers Trust.

We are looking for an exemplary communicator to work with partners in devising and delivering water based projects throughout the Severn Vale catchment and across Gloucestershire. Through these partnerships you will address many current issues including poor water quality and flooding and help to develop new pilot approaches and payment options which demonstrate the viability of Payment for Ecosystem Services.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Expertise in agriculture and water management
  • A sound understanding of Ecosystem Services
  • Experience of successful bid writing and fundraising for conservation and environmental projects
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, capable of engaging and enthusing everyone including local communities and landowners
