The rivers of the Severn Uplands are important breeding grounds for the Atlantic Salmon, where they create Redds in the clean gravels.
Severn Rivers Trust, the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales are supporting community volunteers to collect information on the location of Salmon Redds in the upper Severn.
This initial workshop is classroom based and takes around two hours. There is no previous knowledge needed as all will be explained. This will be followed up by an email network being set up to share information and to organise a further workshop out at the river (later in the year) to practice the methods learned. Information collected by volunteers will feed into direct conservation action undertaken by Severn Rivers Trust.
The workshop is free of charge, open to all interested parties and must be pre-booked by contacting Lisa Barlow at Severn Rivers Trust on 07967 494219 or email@example.com.
